Steve:  After a few weeks of meeting with him and getting everything settled the first day we brought him home was still a bit chaotic.  Tony was determined to make his room the best room ever, so he was running around like crazy.  Peter had never been over before, so I gave him a tour and asked if he wanted a snack.  We were still waiting for Tony so Peter and I sat there in the kitchen drinking chocolate milk and eating graham crackers.  He asked me if he got to stay here forever and I told him yes.  Peter said he liked me and Tony and the house.  And I should point out here that when he said the house, he meant JARVIS, who had been Mr. Peter since he arrived.  Tony finally finished the room and came out and gave Peter a ride on his shoulders.  Then they both had to test out his new bed by jumping on it.  I was so nervous I burnt dinner, but that was okay because Peter fell asleep watching Sponge Bob with Tony.  He slept in our bed with us that first night, honestly he did that a lot that first year.  He wrapped his little arms and legs around Tony when I covered them up and Tony grabbed my hand.  “He’s ours right?  He’s all ours?”  He asked me and I could only nod.

I can just imagine Captain America answering a bunch of fan questions, and at one point they turn to romantic questions, and there’s an awkward little teenage boy in the back who raises his hand and is like, “um… what about boys who don’t… like girls?” 

And Steve looks him in the eye and says, “If you love someone, the only important thing is that you both cherish and care for each other.”

Cause he might be from a time when those things weren’t acceptable, but he stands for Truth and Justice and the American Dream and part of that includes accepting people for who they are.
